Domestic waste to fuel (RDF/SRF): Forming and processing stage

March 18 2025

Pre-treated domestic waste enters the forming and processing stage. The main task of this stage is to process the treated waste materials into solid fuels (RDF/SRF) suitable for combustion. First, the materials are sent to the mixing system and the proportions are adjusted according to the calorific value requirements to ensure stable fuel performance.

The core process of the forming process is compression and granulation. The evenly mixed materials enter the high-pressure forming machine and are compressed into granular or block fuels (RDF/SRF) under high temperature and high pressure. This process not only increases the density of the fuel, but also improves the combustion characteristics. The small amount of binder added during the forming process enhances the structural strength of the fuel.

Quality control is particularly important at this stage. Technicians will test the density, calorific value and mechanical strength of the fuel products. Unqualified products will be reprocessed to ensure that the products shipped meet the requirements. Strict quality control ensures the market competitiveness of fuel products.

The degree of automation in the forming and processing stage directly affects production efficiency. Modern production lines use intelligent control systems to achieve precise batching and automatic forming. This not only improves production efficiency and product consistency, but also reduces energy consumption, reflecting the concept of clean production.
